It could happen—but there’s nothing to announce right now.

Warframe is a free to play loot shooter that has managed to garner a hugely dedicated fan base, and earn itself a lot of respect, thanks to excellent and fair free to play game mechanics, and hugely compelling game design. The title is available to play on Xbox One, PS4, and PC—but so far, it has not appeared on a Nintendo system.

That could change eventually—speaking to The Express UK, Sheldon Carter, COO of Digital Extremes, noted that the studio loves the Switch, and is examining possibilities—but for now, they have nothing to announce.

“Like all new systems, we’re looking at and examining possibilities, but we have no current plans to put anything on the Switch,” he said.

Given that the Switch currently lacks a compelling major loot style game, Warframe could do gangbusters if it came to the platform—hopefully it’s only a matter of time. Especially since as we have seen, late ports have done extremely well on Nintendo’s hybrid as well.
