2011’s original Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is the definition of a cult classic, and though the wait for a sequel has been a long one, with that road now finally approaching its end, developer Saber Interactive has started its rollout of new details on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Fans of the original have been excited to see the sequel looking as good as it has each time it has shown off, and its developers, too, seem to be more than a little hyped about how it’s shaping up.
In fact, according to Saber Interactive chief creative officer Tim Willits, Space Marine 2 is going to be “the best action game of 2024.” Taking recently to Twitter, Willits – who has previously worked on the likes of Quake, Hexen, and DOOM over the course of his illustrious career, wrote, “I have worked on some of the greatest action games made, and I can say Space Marine 2 is truly amazing.”
“The action in Space Marine 2 is so over-the-top and visceral that you will truly feel what it is like to become a Space Marine. Solo campaign, PvP, and (my favorite) PvE,” Willits said.
Recently, Saber Interactive unveiled new details on Space Marine 2’s PvP mode Eternal War and its co-op offerings in Operations. Details on the game’s various editions were also revealed.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launches on September 9 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
