It’s not often that an executive for a company like Saber Interactive goes online and promises a release window for not one but two major games. However, that’s exactly what happened when newly appointed chief business officer Steve Allison responded to a fan about monetization, stating that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, its untitled John Wick game and “hopefully” Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake would launch in 2028.
Despite skepticism around the statement’s legitimacy, Saber told IGN that it’s indeed real. However, it sought to clarify several things – including that none of the above have official release dates. “Steve was responding to a player primarily asking about plans for microtransactions in future titles, and he was speaking broadly, not officially, about the future slate of Saber games, which he’s incredibly excited about.
“We have not announced any release dates or confirmed launch windows for Saber’s upcoming titles.” Instead, it asked players to look forward to titles like Turok: Origins, which launches later this Fall.
When announced in March 2025, Space Marine 3 was said to be “years” off from release. Creative director Oliver Hollis-Leick later revealed that its development cycle would mirror Space Marine 2. The latter took “something like four years,” and assuming the former already began development in 2024, a 2028 release window isn’t impossible.
The same goes for John Wick, developed in collaboration with Lionsgate, which is slated to be a prequel to the movie series. Unveiled earlier this year, we’ve yet to see any gameplay, and its only confirmed platform is PS5. Depending on how the reveals shape up in the coming year, the action title could be closer than expected.
As for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake, nothing is certain. Saber assured fans last March that it’s still in development, but that’s it. Mad Head Games is allegedly working with the studio on the project.
Regardless of its dates, Saber Interactive has a packed release schedule ahead, and that’s not even accounting for Jurassic Park: Survival. Stay tuned for updates, as always.
