inXile Entertainment’s Wasteland 2 was slated to release this month but the developer has announced on Kickstarter that it’s been pushed back to the “first or second week” of September. This is due to inXile needing to cater to physical media such as discs related to the Kickstarter.

The developer has stated that, “We will give an exact date as soon as we know it.”

Wasteland 2 is a follow-up to the classic 1988 RPG that is most famous for inspiring the Fallout series. The Kickstarter for Wasteland 2 is also fairly well known since it’s one of the fastest games to reach its Kickstarter goal, having crossed $900,000 in 43 hours. It eventually notched up $3 million in crowd-funding. This delay doesn’t quite help the cause of Kickstarter titles taking their sweet time to release but at least Wasteland 2 has been delayed by roughly a month.

Stay tuned for more information on the game in the coming weeks, including a more concrete release date.
