Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs didn’t even live up to half the amount of hype that was heaped upon it. While it wasn’t the worst game ever, it had a long way to go before it delivered on fans’ expectations. Creative director Jonathan Morin is aware of this and while acknowledging that it wasn’t “perfect in any way”, that wasn’t quite the point.

Speaking to Games TM, Morin said that, “The challenge when we made the first game was to create something that would make people dream about something else.”

When to comes to Watch Dogs 2 – which hasn’t been announced but is a given at this point – Morin believes that Ubisoft will have to push the envelope some more.

“With a sequel, there is more pressure to push a brand forward and we now have to appeal to fans in a new way. You have to carry on taking risks.”
