Watch Dogs 2 Sales Have Been Better Since Launch, Thanks To Word of Mouth

Word of mouth is helping.

While the player base for Watch Dogs 2 has been a bit disappointing since the game launched, Ubisoft says the newest installment in the hacker series is doing better than sales numbers first indicated. While that’s good news for Ubisoft, one has to wonder just what the real sales numbers are.

During a recent earnings call, Ubisoft reported the launch window of the game was quite “soft” but word of mouth from players who have enjoyed the game have driven sales numbers to improve. This call comes months after Ubisoft said it was quite happy with the launch of Watch Dogs 2.

The game has definitely been more liked than the original Watch Dogs but the sales haven’t been as good. At least it appears that deficit is repairing itself.
