Remember Compulsion Games’ sandbox survival title We Happy Few? It’s apparently being adapted for the big screen according to Variety. Apparently dj2 Entertainment and Gold Circle Entertainment (of Pitch Perfect fame) will be working with Compulsion to bring dystopian London to life.

Dj2 Entertainment CEO Dmitri Johnson said that, “Our commitment is to make a movie that remains true to the source material, while still surprising fans.” Head developer Guillaume Provost revealed that dj2 had approached Compulsion for turning the Early Access game into a movie.

We Happy Few takes place in futuristic Britain and focuses on citizens that have chosen to deny reality thanks to the drug Joy. When you decide to forgo Joy and ultimately become a Downer, it’s a fight for survival against masked lunatics and the authoritarian Uncle Jack.

We Happy Few has faded away from the limelight since launching for Early Access on Steam and through the Preview Program for Xbox One but still sees updates. What are your thoughts on a movie for the same? Let us know below.
