Weird West Is Former Dishonored Director’s “Biggest Game”

He and his band, Weird Wolves, will also be involved in the game's music.

Last year we got the first, and very brief, look at first game from WolfEye Studios, Weird West. Not much is known about the game outside its suitably weird unveiling trailer, as well as that it will be an action RPG of some kind. While a mystery is still over the project, we did get a small tidbit from the game’s Director, who seems to think this is his biggest project yet.

If you are unaware, WolfEye Studios was founded by former Arkane alum, Raphael Colantonio and Julien Roby. Raphael, or Raf as he’s sometimes referred to, was actually one of the Directors of the first Dishonored. He’s also heading up Weird West, and in a conversation with Wassup, he talked about the game. Most of the discussion surrounded the music, which he and his band, Weird Wolves, will be “heavily involved in.” They are described as a Rock/Electro Goth band, apparently, so that should be a wild soundtrack. When talking about the game itself, he said despite the fact that it will be made with a smaller team than Dishonored it actually may be his biggest game yet.

“So I left [Arkane Studios], and it came back, it was in a different format. Small budget, small teams, but still big games,” he said. “You’ll see what we do with Weird West, it’s a huge game, it might actually be my biggest game, but it doesn’t take 200 people to make. We make deliberate choices about the visual style, so it’s very beautiful and special without taking too long or assets so you can make the entire game with four artists.”

We know very little about Weird West at this point, with the only platform it’s known to be coming to is PC. The game was announced at last year’s The Game Awards and nothing has been said about it since. It definitely has a very unique look, if nothing else, so hopefully we’ll see some more of it soon.
