What Happens In Space Doesn’t Stay In Space: Saints Row IV Developer Diary Number 2

The second Saints Row IV developer diary

Posted By | On 09th, Aug. 2013

The second installment in the Saints Row IV developer diary series hit the web today, giving us a look at some of the fun, bizarre and epic action in store for us.

According to the developers in the video, the game picks up after the events of Saints Row III, with the protagonist partaking in some heroic act, which further bolsters his position of adulation in the eyes of America. So much so this time, that he is voted in as the President of the United States.

Soon after being sworn in, a host of evil, surprisingly well-spoken aliens invade earth, and abduct the president and many of his former comrades. The aliens begin a series of virtual reality simulations target at typical human psychological weaknesses in order to try and convert you to their order. However, the aliens don’t bank on the fact that you are actually a full-blown psychotic, and you fight back and break free of the virtual reality.

From there, you free your comrades, and proceed to stick it to the alien scourge, ‘Murica style. It’s clear the development team has had a lot of fun putting Saints Row IV together, particularly in the virtual reality aspect – the “anything goes” mentally with most Saints Row games is amped up, as the team was able to do things that make even less sense and are way more bizarre through the lens of virtual reality.

Saints Row IV hits stores August 20th for Windows, PS3, and Xbox 360.
