The Legend of Zelda
This is it- it doesn’t matter what platform you own, there is probably no other game as hyped for next year as The Legend of Zelda is, with the possible exception of Metal Gear Solid V. And why should it not be? The game appears to be everything we have wanted Nintendo to do with a Zelda game since the Gamecube days, but which they have steadfastly refused to, so far- it’s a full open world, fully traversable, with things to do around every corner, multiple ways to approach dungeons, and lots of secrets. Nintendo also promises that the Wii U installment of the game will take cues from the seminal A Link Between Worlds on the Nintendo 3DS last year.
It helps that Zelda U looks absolutely gorgeous and stunning- it actually is amazing that it is running on a Wii U. The artstyle definitely helps- it looks like what Skyward Sword was aiming for, but missed, because the Wii simply was not powerful enough. But here, the artstyle shines. It’s gorgeous. It’s absolutely stunning. Just look at it.
It’s a true next generation Legend of Zelda game. It is everything we have been waiting for since the Gamecube days. It promises to be one of the best games of next year, and is one of the most anticipated games not just on Wii U, but period.
