Xenoblade Chronicles X
Hands down, Xenoblade Chronicles X is the most ambitious looking (and one of the most exciting looking) role playing games coming out next year- in a year that will see games such as The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Persona 5, and Final Fantasy XV, that is no mean feat. It is promising a seamless open world, an epic story of refuge, survival, and treachery, and the same kind of breathtaking JRPG design that made Xenoblade Chronicles the best JRPG of last generation by common consensus.
It also looks like a game that is simply going to be pushing the Wii U to its limits- it’s a massive, vast open world, all of it traversable, in multiple ways, with an amazing draw distance, seamless animations, and huge enemies that are often bigger than many areas in other video games are.
It also helps that it is a brand new Xenoblade game, which Nintendo is now treating as a major franchise, after almost letting it die just a few years ago- Xenoblade Chronicles was one of the seminal games of last generation. The same things are expected of its sequel as well. Let us hope that Nintendo and Monolith Soft do not disappoint.
