World of Warcraft remains one of the staples of PC gaming. The MMORPG has been ongoing forever now, it seems, and is one of the last of the genre to be continuing on with any real level of success. But it doesn’t matter how big you are, delays still happen and COVID-19 this year has reeked havoc on many companies big and small. But Blizzard remains defiant against the disease and says the next expansion will come this year.

The next expansion upcoming is Shadowlands. It was announced in November of last year, and promised to take you to the underworld of WoW. It’s been somewhat silent on that front for awhile, however, and with no Blizzcon this year due to COVID people have wondered if there has been a delay. But in the newest developer update live stream, which you can see in full below Executive Producer John Hight committed that the expansion will see a release this fall “even if we end up shipping it from our homes.”

World of Warcraft is, of course, available now on PC. The Shadowlands expansion is slated to hit this fall.
