Team 17 and AT New Media have announced that Worms Revolution will be releasing on October 10th for Xbox Live Arcade, PSN and Steam. The game features the return of the 2D Worms characters in an all-new 3D environment with new weapons and features.

Some of these, according to the press release, include “four different classes of Worm and dynamic water and physical objects that are designed to boost the gameplay experience”. Players can already pre-purchase the game and gain several extras including bonus campaign missions and speech-banks. Steam users will receive a free copy of Worms Armageddon, previously unavailable via Steam.

Simon Kay of AT New Media stated, “A release date for any new Worms game is major news and this will cause great excitement across the gaming world. Team 17 are expert at producing new content that refreshes and revitalizes the brand and it is this commitment to quality that has kept Worms at the top for nearly twenty years – from our perspective as a licensing agent it also means that any merchandising lines are able to tap into a massive fan-base that is constantly being added to as new players discover the games.”
