WTF Moment of the Day: 3DS Saint’s Row Connects and Interacts with Xbox 360 Version of Saint’s Row 3

Posted By | On 30th, Jun. 2010

This is a little hard to swallow, but it’s coming straight from the horse’s mouth. The horse being developers and publishers THQ in this case.

Apparently, Saint’s Row Drive By, the 3DS instalment of the popular open world franchise, was originally being developed as a 3D compatible title for the Xbox Live Arcade. After Nintendo courted THQ to develop some mature content on the 3DS, they agreed to port it over to the handheld as well, as it was all mighty convenient. Neat.

Not only that, but Danny Bilson of THQ has revealed that the 3DS version- specifically the 3DS version- of the title will unlock some exclusive content in the Xbox 360 version of the upcoming Saint’s Row 3. How the heck would that even work out, I wonder? And just how curious is it that Nintendo allowed this to happen in the first place? Heck, does that mean that the 3DS features tech that will enable it to hook up with devices of all kind, rival consoles included? WTF?

Saint’s Row Drive By and Saint’s Row 3 are complete enigmas as of now. We know nothing about them. When we do, we’ll be sure to pass on the information to you.
