After turmoil surrounding its development team, Leenzee no longer owns the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers IP. Instead, Digital Bros, the parent company of 505 Games (which also published the title), has announced that it has acquired rights to the title for €4 million.
The deal means that Leenzee won’t receive any future royalties from sales, and Digital Bros touted the first game’s success. Over one million units have been sold as of March 31st, 2026, resulting in more than €30 million in revenue, which confirms “the strength of the product and its long-term potential.”
This would seemingly indicate a sequel down the line, which wouldn’t be the first time the company has made such acquisitions. 505 Games acquired the rights of Ghostrunner from All In! Games back in 2021 and brought on One More Level to develop Ghostrunner 2.
In this case, the acquisition of the Wuchang IP comes after reports that its director/producer, Xia Siyuan, was fired. Other members of the development team were allegedly told to shift to support work instead of releasing additional content. When they seemingly refused to do so, they were fired.
Siyuan has since registered his own company, and it would be the biggest irony if the core team reformed to continue working on Wuchang under Digital Bros. Time will tell, so stay tuned for updates.
