While we have been able to see what WWE 2K19 looks like (at least a tiny bit), what we’re really excited about is the fact that the developers are now bringing back the Showcase mode with this iteration. After being absent for the past couple of games in the series, the Showcase mode is back in WWE 2K19, and this time it will explore the story of Daniel Bryan.

The Showcase mode is called ‘The Return of Daniel Bryan’, and it will basically give players a glimpse of the wrestler’s entire career, all the way from his try-out matches to his return to the fighting ring.  The Showcase will include 12 historical matches and and over 20 story-centric cutscenes, and one of the historical matches is going to be a “surprise”, so we can’t wait to find out more about that.

Daniel Bryan will also have four new entrances, six new victory scenes, and 11 different looks, so it’s safe to say that players will have quite a wide range of customization options available to them. Additionally, there will also be nine different arenas available including, WrestleMania XXX and the old Velocity set. There’s even more to look forward to, as players will get to see something “really cool” if they choose to team up with Kane as a part of “Team Hell No.” What that is is something 2K Sports haven’t revealed, obviously, so I guess we’re gonna have to wait for more info on that front.

WWE 2K19 is set to release for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 5. You can watch a teaser for the new Showcase mode below.
