X-Com: Enemy Within Listings Spotted

Is a follow up for last year's classic incoming?

XCOM

Last year’s reimagining/reboot of beloved PC classic X-Com: UFO Defense, X-Com: Enemy Unknown, was an incredible game, modernizing the old formula for contemporary sensibilities whilst still retaining its sense of identity. It was an excellent strategy game from a developer who is undoubtedly the master of the genre.

Of course, we don’t know whether the game will get a proper sequel- the upcoming The Bureau: X-Com doesn’t (and shouldn’t) really count, as it’s barely part of the same universe and not even the same genre. Looks like those fears might just have been put to rest by recent finds.

These recent finds are listings for X-Com: Enemy Within on Steam Databases, and on the Korean Classification Board’s website, which indicates that whatever it is, it is for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. I say ‘whatever it is’ because we are not sure yet if it’s a new game, or an expansion; the name certainly seems to indicate the latter.

How many of you played X-Com: Enemy Unknown? Did you enjoy it? Would a follow up excite you?

[Thanks CVG!]
