Microsoft has announced that the Xbox 360 sold 1.7 million units in December in US, become the highest selling console of the month. Not just that- the Xbox 360 was also the highest selling console of the entire year in US, beating the console in second place by 2.7 million units.

December was the tenth consecutive month that the Xbox 360 held 40% of the console market share in US and the twelfth month running that it was the highest selling console in US.
