Xbox 360 used more for apps than multiplayer gaming – Microsoft

Posted By | On 27th, Mar. 2012

Microsoft has mentioned that Xbox 360 gets used more for entertainment purposes than multiplayer gaming. Of course, the reason has to be Netflix, which is quite popular on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Since, most of them are gold members, the stats should be interesting for Microsoft.

We’ve fully enabled the Kinect and (its) user experience including voice navigation,” says Otto Berkes, senior vice president of HBO’s Consumer Technology Group.

“We tried to take full advantage of the functionality of Xbox.”

Yusuf Mehdi, chief marketing officer for Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business commented “We’ve really seen this amazing explosion at Xbox the last four months that’s honestly even surprised our own hopes and aspirations.”

This should be great news for Microsoft, as entertainment was their primary focus for the past few years and along with the Kinect, they are on a roll.
