January 2023 saw Microsoft taking a swing at the Nintendo Direct formula with its own Xbox Developer Direct, where it showcased the likes of Redfall, Forza Motorsport, and Minecraft Legends, along with announcing and shadow dropping Hi-Fi Rush. Interestingly, it seems like the company might have something similar planned for 2024 as well.

That’s as per Spanish YouTuber eXtas1s, who has claimed that Microsoft is planning another Developer Direct presentation. Allegedly, the company will show off games like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Towerborne at the event, while it’s claimed that Psychonauts developer Double Fine Productions’ next game will also be announced.

The leaker goes on to claim that a game will also be shadow dropped at the event, similar to how Hi-Fi Rush was last year. There may, however, be slight differences, so the game in question might release within a few weeks of its reveal at the event rather than on the same day. As per eXtas1s, the game in question will be Double Fine’s aforementioned project, which the leaker speculates could be KILN, which Microsoft filed a trademark for last year.

If the company does indeed plan on holding the event in January (as it did last year), it shouldn’t be too long before it makes an official announcement. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
