Microsoft seems to have quietly nixed its $1 trial pricing for Xbox Game Pass, which had previously been reduced in duration from 30 days to 14 days.

Microsoft has stopped offering its $1 trial for Xbox Game Pass as the company gears up for one of the biggest video game releases of the year in the form of Starfield. According to XGP, the option has been removed from the sign-up page for Xbox Game Pass.

Interestingly, the company had recently reduced the duration offered by its $1 trial for the subscription service down from 30 days to 14 days. Microsoft has likely done this in a bid to attract more full-paying subscribers to Xbox Game Pass with the upcoming release of Starfield.

Earlier this year, Microsoft had announced Xbox Game Pass Core. Meant to be a replacement to Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass Core is slated for launch on September 14, and will allow subscribers access to multiplayer on Xbox consoles, as well as over 25 games.

The $1 pricing for Xbox Game Pass was initially released as an introductory deal for the subscription service, and Microsoft had gone as far as allowing new subscribers to convert all of their remaining Xbox Live Gold subscriptions into Xbox Game Pass subscriptions by making use of the $1 price tag.
