Microsoft’s first party output has been impressive over the last year, and is invariably bound to become even more prolific in the coming months and years thanks to their increasingly impressive lineup of studios. But their first party efforts also include work they do with indie studios under their Xbox Game Studios publishing label, and it seems the next game in line for that might be a new open worlder.

As spotted by Xbox insider @Klobrille over on Twitter, narrative director at Xbox Game Studios Publishing Dave Mongan’s profile on LinkedIn suggest that a new AAA open world title is underway that is yet to be announced. Mongan’s profile has since been update to change the wording to “other exciting new AAA titles yet to be announced”, but you can see a screengrab of the original text below.

Xbox Game Studios Publishing has in recent years worked with the likes of Insomniac Games (on Sunset Overdrive), Moon Studios (on the Ori games), and most recently with Asobo Studio (on Microsoft Flight Simulator), so it would be fair to say that they’ve had a solid track record. It should be interesting to see what they come up with next.

In the meantime, stay tuned to GamingBolt for continued updates on what this game in particular might be.
