'I'll never feel strange promoting great games.'

Xbox head Phil Spencer has not attempted to keep it secret that he greatly dislikes the console warrior mentality that so many fans of video games so frequently exhibit. Discussions about games frequently devolve into inane, toxic, destructive chatter about what piece of plastic is better rather than the games themselves- and this is something that Spencer is not a fan of.

Now, he has reiterated his stance. When he took the time to congratulate the developers of Little Nightmares on their recent success, he was accused of console fanboyism on Twitter. Spencer sharply rebuked the accusation. “I’ll never feel strange promoting great games.  You should play it on the platform you own,” he said.

This, of course, isn’t the first time that Spencer has spoken out against console wars. And sadly, given the sad state of console fanboyism at the moment, it is unlikely to be the last, either.
