Rumours about a next generation Xbox have been heavy these days. A CV on LinkedIn has now outed the possibility of the Xbox 720 (again). Microsoft employee Jeff Faulkner is currently working as “Xbox Next Gen Creative Director”. His LinkedIn profiles states that he’s been working in the role since January 2011.
Jonathan Harris’ LinkedIn profile says that he’s been “designing the next generation of entertainment” the last 14 months. He’s the “senior creative director for Xbox.”
box hardware intern Joe Langevin‘s profile says he’s working on “high speed data buses to prevent electromagnetic interference in next-gen devices.”
Ex-Microsoft employee Patrick Corrigan’s LinkedIn profile says he spent the first half of 2011 “providing groundwork an[d] integration for branding elements for next-gen Xbox on all forms of media. Ranging from print to UI across future releases of the Xbox platform”.
As mentioned above, this is not the first time that rumours about Xbox 720 have surfaced. Some time ago, it was rumoured that Rare, Turn 10 and Lionhead are working on launch titles for Microsoft’s next home console, and that Saints Row 4 and Alan Wake 2 were also in development.
An Xbox 720 logo was also spotted in a movie trailer, and rumours about the next Treyarch Call of Duty game being on a “new console”, possibly Xbox 720, were also abound.
Stay tuned for more info.
