Xbox One Finally Releasing in China After Last Minute Delay

Releases there next week.

The Xbox One was due to launch in China on September 23 originally, before it was abruptly delayed last week for inexplicable reasons. Microsoft stated that it would ‘need a bit more time to get the console ready for release’ in China when it explained the reason for the delay, but of course, that was an entirely ambiguous response that told us nothing.

Anyway, that’s all water under the bridge now, as we finally have a launch date for the system in the country, and on the whole, it’s not even that far from the originally intended release date: the Xbox One launches in China next week, on September 29.

Of course, this does, in turn, beg the question as to why the system was delayed in the first place, as it doesn’t seem likely that Microsoft actually needed more time, judging by how short the delay was- less than a week, and from a logistical or planning standpoint, that’s really negligible- so why the delay at all?

Ah well. Stay tuned for more news.
