We have to learn more about Microsoft’s strategy when it comes to gaming and the Xbox One as they shared some details during their quarterly financial conference call. During the conference, Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella and Chief Financial Officer Amy Hood shared the strategy that helps the company achieve growth in the gaming segment.

Nadella stated that the Xbox One is the “highest-engagement console in the marketplace”. He went on to say that this benefits the company since it offers the best engagement to players whenever a third party title releases. The company’s strategy also extends to its various services such as Xbox Live, Mixer, and Game Pass which drive player engagement and also bring growth for the company.

Nadella also touched upon Azure and how Microsoft ensures that they incorporate useful services so as to make it easier for developers to make games for their console. Amy Hood also stated that she expects to see further growth in the current quarter thanks to a strong playerbase and upcoming third party titles. We’ll just have to wait and see what the future has in store for Microsoft’s gaming segment.
