Xbox One System Update’s New Alpha Build Preview Now Available

The New Preview Alpha build for the Xbox One’s upcoming system update has now gone live, Microsoft has officially announced (via Reddit).The update isn’t meaty, of course, and doesn’t bring about any major or significant changes, but it does fix some known issues.

The new 1804 Alpha build is mostly concerned with audio fixes- it fixes two known issues. One of these sees the system crashing or users experience a black screen the default audio is set to Dolby Atmos, while the other saw players experiencing low volume levels in certain apps and games.

If console is in Instant-On mode and you were selected to receive the Alpha Build, the updated will have downloaded and installed and your console will have rebooted to standby automatically. Once it’s been made available, the update can also be downloaded manually as per usual. Microsoft also notes that the update “has a shorter than usual amount of time before it becomes mandatory”.
