Xbox Series X/S Worldwide Shipments Are Reportedly at 28.3 Million Units as of June

In June of 2023, Microsoft revealed that Xbox Series X and S had collectively sold over 21 million units worldwide by that point.

It’s been years since Microsoft stopped providing sales figures for its consoles, but nearly four years into the current generation, it’s been clear regardless that Microsoft’s duo of consoles has lagged far behind its direct competitor in the PlayStation 5. To illustrate that further, fresh sales estimates have emerged, shedding further light on how much Microsoft’s and Sony’s current consoles have sold. 

Sales data provided by analyst firm Aldora Intelligence was shown in a video recently uploaded by Wall Street Journal, which estimates the combined shipments for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S to be at 28.3 million units as of June 30. In comparison, the PlayStation 5 has shipped 61.7 million units worldwide as of the same date, which means it has sold more than twice as much as its direct competition. 

In June last year, it was revealed that the Xbox Series X/S had sold over 21 million units worldwide as of then. Even as Microsoft has continued to see growth in its gaming revenue courtesy of Activision Blizzard, hardware revenue has continued to decline, suggesting a consistent downward trend in sales for Xbox Series X/S.
