Xbox SmartGlass Will Let You Track Friends’ Progress Over Xbox Live

Xbox SmartGlass bringing social networking to Xbox One

Posted By | On 10th, Jun. 2013

Microsoft is bringing social networking to the Xbox One via Xbox Live in a big way. Using SmartGlass, which allows your smartphone or tablet to become a companion, second screen for your console, you will now be able to track your friends’ progress in games in real time via a social timeline feature, not entire unlike Facebook.

In addition, SmartGlass will also be used to match players for multiplayer matches, buy in game items, and to track leaderboards. This will allow, for instance, a player to queue up a multiplayer match on their tablet even as they play an entirely different game on their console. During their E3 presser, Microsoft loaded up a match of Killer Instinct from the SmartGlass seamlessly.
