We’re all waiting with bated breath for Battlefield 5, the next entry in DICE and EA’s long running premier first person shooter saga, to be revealed- we’re just a few hours away from that unveiling, but it seems that the Xbox Store may have ruined the surprise for us somewhat. As users on NeoGAF are pointing out, the Xbox One dashboard seems to have jumped the gun with the reveal, and it may have given users their first look at Battlefield 5 proper.
And what is Battlefield 5 proper? Well, it’s hard to be sure, but from the images, which you can see below in various levels of on screen and off screen captures, as well as zooms, it seems to be set in some kind of a World War 1 era- probably an alternate World War 1 era, because recreating the First World War historically accurately would make for a rather boring first person shooter, to be honest.
