This week marks the release of Xenoblade 2: Torna- The Golden Country (next week, if you don’t own the expansion pass), the standalone expansion for Monolith’s RPG that they launched last year, which serves as a prequel to that game. To celebrate the release of the new game, Monolith has announced that all players of the game, regardless of whether or not they purchased the game’s expansion pass, will get free in-game items that they can use in the main game (and not in Torna).

The new items include pouch items, as well as fifteen Legendary Core crystals, which should help those players who are still stuck grinding for the final few Rare Blades that they are otherwise missing (though, friendly reminder, even with a Legendary Core, you’re not guaranteed a Rare Blade, you just have a higher chance than you otherwise would- yes, it’s annoying as all hell having so little control over the process). In addition, players will also get 3 each of Char-Grilled Grumbirds, Crispy Blendshakes, and Clicky-Clacks.

To redeem the gift, you need to make sure your account is linked to a MyNintnedo account, and that you have turned the “Receive Emails” setting on. After that, if you purchased the game from eShop, you just have to wait for the email with the download code; if you purchased the physical copy, you have to redeem your MyNintendo coins (done from the Switch home screen), and you’re set.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is available now, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
