Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade Chronicles will be releasing exclusive for the Wii U but before that, protagonist Shulk will be appearing in Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. game for the Wii U and 3DS. Check out his official character trailer.

Shulk has an annoying British accent and among other things is capable of countering enemy attacks. You can also switch between different powers to effectively prevent knock-backs, trigger Smash attacks and much more. Shulk’s Final Smash has him calling in his team-mates to wreck shop on his opponents. It’s not exactly Super Sonic but we’ll take it.

Super Smash Bros. releases on the Nintendo 3DS on September 13th in Japan while heading to North America on October 3rd. Oddly enough, the Wii U version has yet to receive a final release date – it will be out in Q4 2014. Are you looking forward to the game now that Shulk has joined the fray?
