With Xenoblade Chronicles 2 releasing on December 1st, Monolith Soft will be releasing roughly three years of planning and development for the epic open world RPG. However, Xenoblade Chronicles X, the Wii U exclusive that struck a chord with many players at the end of the console’s life cycle, is still in the back of many minds. Given how late it launched, is it possible that it’s eventually ported to the Nintendo Switch?
Speaking to 4Gamer (via Siliconera), Monolith Soft president Tetsuya Takahashi spoke only about his personal wishes. “Personally speaking, there are times I feel like playing Xenoblade Chronicles X and think about how nice it would be to play it on the Nintendo Switch.”
Everything else comes down to demand and supply. “Of course that will depend on demand and such, but I will think about it while discussing future plans with Nintendo,” said Takahashi. Whether Xenoblade Chronicles X actually comes to the Switch or not, at least Takahashi acknowledges on some level that it’s worth bringing over.
As for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, it’s currently garnering positive reviews from critics though its voice acting, lack of codex for tutorials and other issues have been criticized. Check out all the reviews for the game on Metacritic.
