It sounds pretty awesome!

As has long been suspected, Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Wii U will in fact have an online mode. However, in what is sure to come as a relief to all people who were afraid that online may intrude with the core game’s design, the online functionality will be entirely separate from the single player portion of the game- there will be a series of quests that you can tackle with your friends (up to 4 players per party), as well as more passive information exchange for up to 32 players.

The game will also support keyboards over USB (for text chatting), as well as Miiverse functionality. The game will, all in all, be pretty well rounded and featured overall- and though the main quest of Xenoblade Chronicles X already promises to be long and compelling, the added online functionality should give it even more lasting appeal.

Oh, one final tidbit, even though this has nothing to do with online- the game will also fully support Off TV Play. Xenoblade Chronicles X will launch on the Wii U sometime this year.
