Sega’s historical take on the Yakuza franchise, namely Yakuza Ishiin (also known as Yakuza Restoration) has received a ton of new screenshots from TGS 2013, along with details about some of the modes, mini-games and other functions you’ll find.

It’s been revealed that there will be “Another Life” mode, which sees protagonist Ryoma Sakamoto living with Haru, a girl who’s parents were killed in an accident and must face an enormous debt, in the countryside. You’ll be growing vegetables, cooking, peddling your wares, raising pets and much more.

The game will also support Cross Play between the PS3 and PS Vita, which lets you access Battle Dungeon and Another Life along with other mini-games, which include gambling in shogi, poker, mahjong, and more which can be played online with leaderboards.

The various weapons have been revealed as Rymoa will use pistols, katana, cannons, spears and even his own fists to fend off enemies. You’ll be able to find rare weapons and upgrade your current arsenl through weapon synthesis, with tens of thousands of patterns. You’ll employ a black-smith to create the goods, while simultaneously leveling him up as your weapons get upgraded.

Then there’s the Battle Dungeon, a card based action mode in which you can fight alongside the Shingengumi in order to fight off foes. There will be plenty of allies, each with their own skills, and which can even level up using synthesis. Rare items are to also be had during the Dungeon, which can be sold at high prices.

Yakuza Ishiin releases on February 22nd 2014 in Japan for PS3 and PS4.
