Yakuza Ishiin

Sega’s Yakuza Ishin will be out on February 22nd for the PS4 and PS3 in Japan. Since it’s the first Yakuza game for next gen consoles and set during the Tokugawa/Meiji Restoration period with samurai and the Shinsengumi tearing it up, we’re quite looking forward to how it pans out. Sega has released several new screenshots for the PS4 version today, which you can check out below.

You’ll be playing as Ryoma Sakamoto during Feudal Japan, taking up the sword to find the man who killed your father. You’ll have run-ins with armed samurai, customize your own weapons and attacks to assert your dominance, and even have a farm retreat to relax with your lady friend. Like the contemporary Yakuza titles, Ishin will have an open world and allow you to pursue missions at your own pace.

Will it provide a strong presence for the PlayStation 4 when the weekend sales tallies hit? We’ll find out in the coming week so stay tuned for more updates.
