Yooka-Laylee Multiplayer Footage Showcases Multiplayer Kart Racing

And yes, it's local multiplayer.

Playtonic’s Yooka-Laylee isn’t just a 3D platformer that pays homage to the wondrous Banjo-Kazooie franchise. It also has some multiplayer options to entice your friends to play along. New footage of the same has been showcased courtesy of IGN and it’s well worth checking out.

The multiplayer mode showcases the local 4 player Kartos Racing mode, which is a top-down kart racing mode within the game’s retro arcade. The vibe is more RC Pro-Am than Mario Kart 8 but it looks fairly interesting and challenging.

Yooka-Laylee will be releasing on April 11th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC with a Nintendo Switch also in development. It was originally in development for the Wii U as well but cancelled due to “unforeseen technical issues”.

What are your thoughts on the multiplayer footage and will you be picking up this crowd-funding platformer? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more updates.
