Zynga has partnered with HBO and Disruptor Beam for Game of Thrones Ascent, a social game for Facebook and Zynga.com that follows season 3 of the hit TV show, currently airing on HBO.

Zynga head of partner publishing Rob Dyer stated that, “Disruptor Beam has done an outstanding job with the game’s design – creating an engaging and authentic experience that appeals to midcore and casual players alike, and reflects the incredible world of Game of Thrones, created by George R.R. Martin and brought to life by HBO. It’s a great partnership for everyone involved and I couldn’t be more excited to introduce this game to Zynga’s players.”

The game had a strong number of 500,000 installs in the open beta phase that launched on February 21st. New content is being added alongside the show’s airing of new episodes, and players can participate in the events of the show as well.

Disruptor Beam CEO Jon Radoff states that it is “a unique transmedia experience” and will work with Zynga to “continue to make this game a true extension of HBO’s renowned series Game of Thrones.”
