Every new generation of consoles opens up new avenues for developers and every subsequent generation has had a whole set of exclusive games that have defined them over the years. The current generation has had their pick and one of Sony’s pick as an exclusive for the PS4 is Driveclub. Originally slated to be released last year, its release was delayed to this year for a certain few reasons that have mostly been kept under the wraps.

But it’s not the delay that we are here to talk about. The game has garnered a lot of attention coming from the developers of MotorStorm who have put in a visible amount of effort to make this game. With the release of the alpha code gameplay videos, we’ve been acquainted with the primal features that the game is loaded with to appease the fans of the racing genre of games. Here are a bunch of reasons that have had us believe that Driveclub is going to be force to reckon with in the near future.

15. Not an NFS Title/Clone.

51. Driveclub 4

it may sound pretty stupid but I was sick of hearing about a new NFS game every now and then. As much as we had loved the Need for Speed series since the days of its start and right through to Underground and later, it has become somewhat redundant and has had far too many spin-offs. Driveclub is unlike the NFS games and isn’t really a challenger to the racing simulators like Gran Turismo, but a game that seems to be pitted against GRID 2.

It is good to see that Driveclub hasn’t stuck with the recipes of the yore of racing games and tried to bring a more dynamic racing game to the front.

@kevin_kirby:disqus You are a textbook troll Kevin. This article is about DriveClub not an invitation for XBONER dumbasses to come here to hock some 2-3 month old game that no one is hardly playing any more. I am sure we can pick it up from GameStop in the $20 range so tell me how awesome this game is that few people play anymore?

Congratulations MS put out an adequate racer only took them 10 years. GT is still a better overall game IMHO.

if you dont like it Kevin then leave

Drive club looks, good but project cars is going to destroy the graphics in this

    • DarthDiggler

      That remains to be seen.

    • Surging

graphics will be hard to match with driveclub if you heard the dev speak on how meticulus the details down to fiber on the seats …

    • Psionicinversion

in project cars even the engines at the back are accurately modeled and look superb so guess well have to wait and see

That’s the whole point by the time this mess of a game DriveClub even comes out other better games will be out. Meanwhile we would have been playing the better Forza 5 for over a year already anyhow.

    • CervantesPR

these features are exiting so lets wait and see how the game will turn out, its not a simulator so stop comparing it to forza, either way the king of all racing sims will arrive eventually on PS4, Gran Turismo 7.

    • Bilal Prince- Ali

not as many people playing Forza anymore tbh lol

    • DarthDiggler

@kevin_kirby:disqus Forza isn’t even a game, it’s a store front for XBOX LIVE now go away you are terrible at this trolling thing.

  • You are flat out wrong

Xbro fear is strong in here.

  • Kevin Kirby

WOW the blind fanboy in you is strong GT has been getting OWNED by Forza for years. GT has terrible AI and has had half baked non premium cars in the past two GT’s 5 and 6 not to mention still uses sounds from GT games years ago and have some terrible sounds on some cars. Sorry Forza wipes the floor with GT has been for years and especially now with the cloud AI in Forza makes GT AI look laughable just like it is in GT6.

    • You are flat out wrong

This is why a deluded Xbot looks like.

    • Kevin Kirby

Sorry anyone with any sense and takes off their PS fanboy goggles knows Forza wipes the floor with GT has been for years.

    • DarthDiggler

Yeah the sales reflect that dumbass.

    • Bilal Prince- Ali

i actually agree partly in what you say.. but when considering the two games, you STILL get more bang for your buck with GT and GT being a MUCH bigger brand and series will always lead the genre in pure simulation thats why Forza wont be able to take the title from it.. Forza has better sounds and damage for sure without question.. but the feel of the cars and elvel of detail in controls and fine tuning Forza deffo doesnt compare but the versatility of the game modes which is why Forza just cant plain and simply.. from a graphical standpoint once again its quesitonable but still hard to compare considering you cant really use Forza 5 as an example for anything considering Turn 10 said it themselves they started from the ground up new engine and all to create Forza 5 for next gen only so you comparing a strictly next gen Forza to old gen GT is sorta detrimental to your own argument but mainly unfair.. when the next-gen GT comes out then you can compare but even then it’d be unfair on the GT side considering Forza is a launch game and GT would be out next year or 2 years or whatever.. but either way bottom line is some of your points are true but need to be taken into context and not forget who paved the way for who. Simples

      When Forza has the following, I’ll listen to you;
      track creator

Not really a simulator without weather, is it??

  • Dale

No VR and No dirt track racing is a good thing? … I thought variety was key in making games. Obviously not in this authors eyes.

    • DarthDiggler

They need to get the damn game out and not implement new features in the 11th hour.

  • DarthDiggler

Any cockpit based game is a perfect match for VR.

  • Robert

By the time you’ll get Drive Club we will have forza horizon 2 open world racing game
