Battlefield 1 managed to launch largely free of the kinds of glitches and bugs that infested Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 during their respective launches. While there were definitely still issues, the game ran as intended, and the glitches were more along the lines of quirks that players could ignore as they continued to enjoy the game.
These new issues that the game is suddenly faced with are nothing of that sort, however. Battlefield 1 players are reporting issues logging in- and when they do, they often find that all their data seems to have gone, their progress, level, and ranks reset, as well as their stats and weapons. This seems to suggest the game is having issues synchronizing with servers, which in turn suggests increased traffic and server load- a distinct possibility given that holidays are right around the corner.
Hopefully, this is something DICE will remedy, and soon. A whole lot of people will be playing Battlefield 1 for the first time around now, and things like this would just end up making a bad impression when the game doesn’t deserve one.
