Destiny Year 3 Could Bring Back Year 1 Raids

Bungie is now “absolutely considering” the possibility.

Of the many requests fans have made to Bungie for Destiny, one seems to echo continuously – updating the Year One raids, like Vault of Glass and Crota’s End, to new Light level standards. Bungie has acknowledged this by simply noting there were no plans for the same but the sentiment could be changing.

Rise of Iron director Christopher Barrett spoke to Polygon about content in Year Three of Destiny and when asked about old raids coming back, he said, “It’s always consistently been in the top 10 list. Since the second raid came out: ‘Hey, we want to go back and play older raids.’ The simple answer is it’s a matter of priority.

“If we spend time bringing that stuff, that means less new stuff we can build. For this fall, in Rise of Iron, we wanted new stuff. New new new. Let’s give new places to go, new raid, stuff like that. But we certainly hear that fans would love to have a reason to go back to some of the old raids. So we’re absolutely considering it.”

It’s possible that next year’s April update sees a return to Vault of Glass much like 2016’s update signaled a return to the Prison of Elders. We’ll know for sure in the coming months so temper your expectations otherwise.

Don’t believe Bungie’s lies. They do PR stunts like this just to get people to buy Rise of Iron. They’ll do the whole song and dance but they’ll never be brought back until they realize they should be desperate.

Their argument is bunk btw. They pretend that they have to reinvent the wheel and change all the encounters and fights like they did with certain strikes even though the only thing people want is to update the light levels on the enemies and gear. Updating levels is not hard; they’ve done it numerous times without issue, they only make it a big deal when they redo an entire strike and that’s what they’re saying here, which is not what people are asking for. It’s called a Strawman argument and Bungie pulls this a lot.
