Epic Games boss Cliff Bleszinksi has praised Sony’s decision to implement dual analogue sticks on the NGP as a real boon for the shooter genre. In an interview with CVG, Bleszinksi praised Apple’s operating systems for iPod touch and iPhone, but said that shooters cannot work well on them.

“[[Sony NGP] makes an entire genre doable on a handheld. I love iOS, but the twin stick shooters on touch screens do not work. I bought the little stick-on analogue sticks [for iPad] and they kind of work, but it still isn’t quite the same.

“They have a better shot than they would have on a touch screen device by having those mini-dual analogue sticks. I haven’t played Killzone or Resistance on PSP or anything like that, but I think the potential is there [on NGP]. It’s up to developers to make it shine by making the appropriate trade-offs with controls.”

Thanks to CVG for the info.

If Sony is to be successful with this new NGP they have price this JUST right. So many people complained about the single thump stick. That thing felt so awkward. Many people did not like the psp Go so God knows how much they lost there. But if the NGP comes out swinging at max 250.00 I think Sony may have something here. What do you guys think?
