Recently, Spike’s Video Game Awards have become a center stage for game developers to show off their next big game announcement. If you take a look at the past few VGAs, you won’t help but notice that several blockbuster games like The Elder Scroll V: Skyrim, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and a ton of other games were first revealed at the popular awards ceremony.

It’s been about three years since Bethesda Game Studios announced Skyrim, the last installment in the popular Elder Scrolls series, at the VGAs 2010. Fallout 3 was released way back in 2008 so its more than 5 years and surely by this time they must be well into the development process of sequel. With evidence mounting that the next series is indeed under development, a announcement at this year’s VGA seems plausible.

With recent reports of Bethesda hiring a next gen console programmer, level designer and even Obsidian Entertainment game designer Chris Avellone sharing his thoughts on what the next game should include, it is only a matter of time before Bethesda drops the bomb.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Bethesda Game Studios will finally lift off the curtains from Fallout 4 at this year’s VGAs? Let us know in the comments section below.

I actually doubt it, even though it seems realistic that they will. Chances are they’re going to keep us waiting and waiting and then BAM they drop the pin and there we have it. The release date to out holy Fallout! ;D

  • Someone

Yes. Fallout 4 will be announced this year, released in the 2nd half of 2014, DLCs completed by 2015, development team shifted back to Elder Scrolls 6, which will be announced in 2016 for a release in 2017

This guys knows Bethesda like clockwork!

They’ll announce it, but just like with Fallout 3 they’re gonna make us wait a couple years before they finally set a release date, then delay it for 6 months to “smooth out bugs” only to release it even later so it’ll be right around the holiday season, but still be more buggy than in northern maine during black fly season.

Don’t act like you won’t be buying it anyway, and then squeeing with delight as you blow a raider’s head clean off with a revolver.

That’s certainly isn’t how it was with Skyrim.

Seems as if it could be announced at VGA, if that’s where they announced Skyrim. Tbh, I hope they release it early, and let us find the bugs so they can patch them. AND PLEASE KEEP CONSOLE CONTROLS FOR PC GAMERS!

Yea, no. They are still working on ESO. They already said they won’t work on more than one game at a time. There will be no anoucement until ESO is released.

    • Dovahkiin

Except they aren’t the ones making it. Zenimax Online Studios is the one making ESO not Bethesda. Bethesda is just the publisher.

  • Mister Sinister

I want it now, along with more elder scrolls. Make it happen Bethesda
