Guillermo del Toro has recently revealed that will “never again” get involved with video games. The veteran film-maker, who was to work with Hideo Kojima on Konami’s Silent Hills aka P.T. simply believes he’s bad news for video games after it was cancelled.

Speaking to Shack News, del Toro said, “I have proven to be the albatross of video games. I joined THQ, and THQ goes broke. I join Kojima, and Kojima leaves Konami. I have decided, in order not to destroy anyone else’s life, I have decided I will never again get involved in video games. Otherwise, I’ll join someone and his house will explode, or something.”

Del Toro’s work with THQ included two years on InSane with Volition which never saw the light of day. Thankfully, it seems del Toro had a good experience working with Kojima and looks forward to learning more from him as a friend.

While open to the idea of video games based on his own properties, del Toro won’t be involved with games again. “If I join another video game, World War III will start.”
