Microsoft officially unveiled the Xbox One X at their E3 presser yesterday, and they chose to show off everything it was capable off with its high powered specs in all their glory with a first look at the upcoming Forza Motorsport 7. Fair warning- it looks breathtakingly beautiful. More than Forza ever has before, and that’s saying something. And developers Turn 10 have given all credit to the capabilities of the Xbox One X, and how it empowered them to achieve what they have done with Forza Motorsport 7’s visuals.

In an interview with Geoff Keighley, Forza Motorsport 7’s creative director Bill Giese said that the capabilities of the Xbox One X allowed Turn 10 to reimagine everything they want to do with the racing simulation genre. “Building for the Xbox One X, first and foremost, you’re going to 4K,” Giese said. “You’re going to get the 4K textures, you’re going to get upgrades to your dynamic cube maps, your lighting models- all those technical things. But with Forza Motorsport 7, we went back to basics about what it means to be a competitive racer, because we were developing for the Xbox One X.”

He continued- “We were able to do things like reimagine the racing experience. We went through all 700 cars, we touched up all the instrumentation clusters, the windshield wipers, the mirrors. The GTR race cars on the inside, they’ve got netting and wiring. That thrill of racing, what it feels like to be in a car at peak, we were able to really do that.”

And it does look really incredible. The level of detail in all the visual aspects looks astounding. You can watch it all for yourself here. Meanwhile, stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates on anything and everything related to Forza.
