Halo 5: Guardians on PC? “Focused on Xbox One for Now” Says 343 Industries

Halo 5: Guardians

Halo has never been a PC-centric title, even though the first two games released for the platform (that too after long gaps from the original Xbox releases). Unfortunately, if you were impressed with Halo 5: Guardians or even Halo: The Master Chief Collection, you’re going to have to keep waiting to see it on PC.

According 343 Industries’ Bonnie Ross in conversation with Eurogamer, “Right now we are focused on Xbox One. We’ve been on PC before, and Dan [Ayoub, 343 executive producer] has had games like Halo: Spartan Assault on there. “We’re listening to the PC fans, but right now this is all focused on Xbox One,” he said.

Tough luck but at least 343 Industries is interested in what the PC crowd has to say. Maybe if there’s enough demand, the franchise could arrive on PC sometime in the next few years. Or maybe not – it’s not an easy question to answer these days.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be out in November for Xbox One while Halo 5: Guardians releases next year.

Halo is a sales driver. I’m fact Microsoft uses all their IP as sales drivers just like Sony and Nintendo. You don’t see people complaining about other console exclusive games not being on PC.

True Microsoft owns windows but Microsoft has been trying to break into the living room long before the Xbox came around. Anyone remember WebTV?

If keeping games exclusive to their living room box helps them sell more of those boxes they will keep doing it. They want to own the space just like Sony. If you control the box that brings entertainment you make the money.
