Square Enix’s Life is Strange returns with Before The Storm which focuses on Chloe Price after she lost her father. The publisher confirmed that there would be no time travel this time around but thanks to a new behind the scenes video at Deck 9, we know even more about the process behind the story.

Though Ashly Burch won’t be voicing Chloe this time around, she has been brought on-board on as a writing consultant to help with the character’s mind-set and thought process.

Since Chloe is meant to live with her consequences, the severity of the decisions and inability to go back was emphasized. Deck 9 also talked about Dontnod’s love for the game and how it crafted a set of tools called StoryForge to help with its story sequences.

The first episode of Life is Strange: Before The Storm is out on August 31st with three episodes in total planned. What are your thoughts on the prequel? Let us know in the comments.
