The 16 bit era had ‘blast processing’ and ‘Mode 7.’ The next generation saw ’32 bits versus 64 bits’ and ‘CDs vs cartridges.’ Last generation, we had ‘The Cell.’ This time around, because the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are already so damn similar most people have been reduced to counting the number of dots a game puts on their screen, which is seriously sad.
But hey, if you are one of them, you will be very unhappy to know that Dontnod’s upcoming digital episodic drama adventure game, Life Is Strange, will give you no fuel for ownage in the console wars either way- it will be 1080p on both, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. Aw, shucks.
Of course, this resolution is not yet confirmed for last generation consoles, and frankly, we don’t actually expect it to run in 1080p on ten year old machines. Now if only we could somehow twist this into a console war angle…
