The Rogue Prince of Persia

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown fans have been hit with severe blows with recent reports of the game’s commercial underperformance and the consequent disbanding of its development team. The other major new 2D release for the series, however, is continuing to trudge along in early access. In fact, The Rogue Prince of Persia has just received a notable new update.

In addition to new gameplay and content, alongside plenty of fixes, however, Update 9 has also added full Steam Deck optimization for The Rogue Prince of Persia, which means the sidescrolling roguelike is now officially Steam Deck Verified, as confirmed by developer Evil Empire on Twitter.

Evil Empire has warned, however, that some players could experience occasional performance issues in the game’s hub location and some of its later biomes. Though the studio assures it will “continue improving performance” over the course of the game’s early access period, for now, it recommends playing the game with its 30 FPS cap enabled, if you’re playing on Steam Deck.

The Rogue Prince of Persia is available in early access on PC. Read our review of the early access release through here.
