Have you recovered from Sony’s last update for the PlayStation 4? If not, then be warned – another one in the form of firmware update 2.57 is on the way.

According to the official PlayStation Twitter, “PS4 system software update 2.57 coming soon, it’s a minor update that improves stability of some features.”

It doesn’t seem to be that much different from previous small updates for the PS4 which would seemingly improve stability and nothing else. But hey, it’s on the way so don’t be surprised when it pops up on your update screen.

Some users reported issues with software update 2.55 when it released on July 1st. This was also an update to improve stability but resulted in disc read errors that required a restart of one’s console. It’s uncertain whether firmware update 2.57 is meant to fix that so stay tuned for more details.

Have you had trouble with your PS4 since the last update? Let us know in the comments.

That disc read error is really problematic !! they should fix it fast :-/

Not really problematic. All you have to do is restart your console from a cold boot and the problem permanently goes away. Not everyone experienced the issue.

Don’t believe everything Gamingb*tt tells you either. They’re shading journalists who like to exaggerate and kick up drama when it comes to PS4 updates or PSN. Funny enough, you never see them sh*tting on Nintendo for their lack of feature updates or how Microsoft’s updates have caused system crashes.

I haven’t even seen any proof that the disc read bug was caused by update 2.55.

Sadly, the problem didn’t disappear permanently. It happens every go*****mned time :-/
